The Bristol Bolingbroke

Oct 2004

The cabin section of Bristol Bolingbroke IV serial number 9041 arrived at the museum on 21st June 2004.

At the moment an information gathering exercise is in progress. We are trying to get hold of  a copy of Pilots Notes and a maintenance manual for the Bolingbroke IV.  The next step will be to identify what bits are missing altogether, can we obtain them, or will we have to manufacture them? Some of the framework and skin in the cabin is damaged and again we need to assess if it can be repaired or needs to be replaced.

We have the complete forward section of Bolingbroke IVT #9978 which will be used to rebuild the nose and navigator’s position in #9041.
