This picture shows the start of grass cutting in front of the building (between the main road and the building). During the war this area was occupied by Nissen Huts and a hangar.News from the Secretary

We are coming to the final stages now and we need painters and gardeners so if members have a few hours to spare please, please come along and help. There are people on site every Tuesday evening (except the first Tuesday of each month which is committee meeting night) and every Saturday. I am there most evenings and on Sunday Mornings.

There are several items which we shall require for the Museum in the near future:-

Oil-fired central heating boiler
Outside lights
Vacuum cleaner
Security bars for windows
Signs
Kettle or water boiler
Garden plants
Fencing materials
Payphone
Tables & chairs for cafe areas both inside and out

Can members or anyone help with new or good second-hand examples of these? Take this opportunity to clear out your shed, garage, attic or bank account!!

We are already looking at future developments and expansion of the Museum with discussions being held with the Water Authority on our acquisition of a wartime Nissen hut from their premises at Homefield Road near the IOM College. There are three concrete Nissen hut bases in place at the Museum and the airport and Planning Department don't appear to have any objections so things are looking positive at this stage.

Our ranks are swelling with several new members having joined in recent weeks. To them I extend a warm welcome and a hope that they will both enjoy and benefit from being members. We are, I hope, a very approachable group and I hope that our new members will come along and meet us - perhaps with a paintbrush!
