Here's how our progress on the museum was reported on this site from the original planning application in 1999 to the opening date in November 2000.

The Manx Aviation and Military Museum was the name which was decided upon for our new venture at Ronaldsway Airport. It covers all our fields of research, i.e. those of civil aviation and all areas of military history in the Isle of Man.

It will comprise three main exhibition rooms and a small entrance/shop area with photographs and similar material lining the corridor walls. A steady flow of exhibition material is still being donated by the public, and we have been very fortunate to receive sponsorship from local businesses to cover many of the costs of setting up the museum. All sponsors' names will be acknowledged in the museum and on the web site. Major contributors may even be given an advert on every page.
